Social Security Task Force
Social Security And People With Disabilities:
Public Education & Outreach Campaign
Welcome. This web site is produced by the Social Security Task Force of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD). The CCD is a national coalition of organizations that work to ensure that people with disabilities, of all ages, are fully integrated into American society. To meet its goals, CCD operates through Task Forces dedicated to specific topic areas. A major focus for the CCD Social Security Task Force is to ensure that the Social Security program continues to meet the needs of our country's most vulnerable individuals.
The purpose of this web site is to provide informational materials about the critical importance of the Social Security disability, survivor and retirement insurance programs for people with disabilities and their families. All too often, people believe that Social Security is just a retirement program and overlook its vital role as a social and family insurance program for people of all ages.
The web site offers resources produced by the Social Security Task Force and provides information and links to other organizations that work to protect the future adequacy of Social Security.
